CURRENT PLAYER RESERVES: PERMANENTLY CLOSED CURRENT PLAYER APPS: PERMANENTLY CLOSED NEW PLAYER APPS: PERMANENTLY CLOSED ENDGAME INFO The Legion was always meant to be a short-run game of 1-2 years, and it is now approaching endgame. Endgame metaplot plots will start in December 2017 and the final endgame itself will start in January 2018. Since there will be a playable sandbox after endgame, and since some players enjoy very short-run games, apps will remain open until mid-December. However, new players need to be forewarned that the mod metaplot and the fight against Chronoblivion will finish and not be replaced by a new metaplot. For more information on endgame and the post-game sandbox, please read this before apping. NEW PLAYER APPS The Legion has a player cap of 45 and new player apps are handled differently when the cap has been filled vs. not yet filled. If the player cap has not been met: New players can simply app in and will receive an answer back within 7 days. If the game's player cap has been met: The mods will respond to the player, letting them know that their app has been queued. All new player apps will be added to a wait queue list, so the players can see how many people are in front of them. When a player slot becomes available from a drop, the mods will contact the next player in the queue and ask if they are still interested in joining the game. If the player responds yes, then their app will be processed. If they respond no, the mods will move onto the next app until all available player slots are filled. Please note: New players do not have the option of reserving a character. However, if a new player's app is in the wait queue, their app counts as a reservation. As long as a character is listed in the wait queue due to an app, current players, and any other new players that come along, cannot reserve or app that character. Regarding cast caps: Cast caps are no longer in place, due to endgame. CURRENT PLAYER APPS The wait queue is only for new players, and will only be used if the game's player cap has been met. That means that current players may app for a new character at any time, and will receive a response back within 7 days. If a character has not yet been reserved, and is not in the new player queue, you can RESERVE them. This is available only to current players. SITUATIONAL APP CLOSURES Both new player and current player apps may close on occasion due to RL holidays, mods going on vacation, and other mitigating circumstances. They may also be closed sometimes during particularly complicated gamewide plots that would create difficulties for people introing characters. These closures will usually be temporary.  APP RULES AND LIMITS GENERAL RULES ✦ Before Apping, please visit the PLAYABLE CHARACTERS/POWER SELECTION page. ✦ You may only app 1 character at a time. ✦ You must wait 2 weeks between apps. ✦ If you only have one character and you're swapping them out for another, please note on your app and your drop post that you're swapping out so we don't think you're giving up your player slot. ✦ If you app for multiple characters from the same canon they must not have a lot of direct involvement (ie they can't be close siblings or SOs or anything like that). ✦ All apps will remain screened until accepted. Accepted apps will be unscreened. Rejected apps will remain screened. If you have personal reasons for wanting an accepted app to stay screened (such as concerns about your contact info getting in the hands of someone dangerous) you may request for the app to stay screened. ✦ For current players, if a character is not reserved or in the new player wait queue, apps are judged for that character as first come, first served. ✦ Do not link to your application. Please post it as comments, it's fine if there are multiple ones. ✦ We don't care if you reuse old apps you've written yourself but if we catch you plagiarizing an app from someone else, you'll be permanently pre-banned from the game. We'll also ban you if we miss it while approving and find out later, because come on. PLAYER CAP Overall Player Cap: 45 players Characters Allowed Per Player: 4 Because the game is so plot-heavy and involves all the characters working together as a team, The Legion has a player cap to keep things manageable. CANON AND CAST CAPS Versions of each character allowed: 2 We allow two versions of the same character in game, such as an AU and the canon version, or two version from two different incarnations of a canon (ex: comic Barry Allen and TV show Barry Allen). Cast Cap: Due to endgame, there are no cast caps in place any longer. LEGIONNAIRES AND CAPS We are allowing players to help with dedicated npcing of the Legionnaire characters (which are mostly based on the post-Zero Hour Legion). The 4 characters per person character cap does not apply to npc Legionnaires and native Legionnaires are exempt from cast caps. That said, we do not recommend this unless you're willing to use your Legionnaire to help get the PCs involved. While we will allow players to dibs an npc Legionnaire to play, they do have to help with the running of the game and helping PCs get involved in plots (which is IC for the Legionnaires to do anyway). Non-native Legionnaires (such as from Threeboot, the animated show, etc) will be treated as guests to the universe and fall under the usual cast and character caps, counted as DC Comics/animation casts. Please contact the mods if you want to permatemp an npc Legionnaire, as this will not require an app and instead will involve instructions on how to use the Legionnaires to help get the PCs involved and a discussion on the expectations the mods will have of the character. APP SUBJECT LINE In the subject of your app comment, please put "NEW PLAYER APP" or "CURRENT PLAYER APP" before the character's name and canon. In the case of an AU please note specific points the AU diverges from canon. If the character is an AU in the game universe, feel free to ask the mods for help developing this section. (Please keep this under 1000 words.) Personality: What is the character's personality like? Please take care to talk about both their thoughts and motivations and their outward actions. For AUs, please note how their development diverges from canon. (Please keep this under 1000 words.) Canon Powers: If they have superpowers in canon please list them here just so we have them somewhere. Game powers: What powers would you like them to have for the game? Please see the PLAYABLE CHARACTERS/POWER SELECTION page for an idea on what will be accepted. Please specify how the requested powers fit the 1, 2, 3 rules. If you'd like to opt out of powers, note it here. Abilities: Please list any abilities independent of any meta-powers here. Hacking, martial arts, diplomacy skills, etc. If opting out of powers, please explain the abilities that would allow the character to keep up with powered individuals in the setting. Setting: How do you expect your character to respond to the setting? What do you hope to do with your character long-term? If your character is not typically 'heroic', how do you intend to go about integrating them with a super hero team? Can your character adhere to the rules on limited killing that are required to to stay on the team? SAMPLES Prose Sample: 200 word minimum. You may use a test drive thread, use the following prompt, or make up your own. Links to RP samples at other games are not accepted, you must either use a Test Drive thread or write up a new prompt, but you may use samples at other games to supplement your samples. If your character is a quiet character, introspection or inner monologue is fine. Your character is with the team at a fancy diplomatic party and a UP dignitary (a Coluan, naturally, because man, the entire planet of Colu seems to be chock full of arrogant dicks) has called into question the character's ability to be a Legionnaire and whether or not they, some weirdo interdimensional stranger, have the personal character to help protect the United Planets. How do they respond? Network Sample: 200 word minimum. You may use the following prompt, or make up your own. Links to RP samples at other games are not accepted, you must write up a new prompt, but you may use samples at other games to supplement your samples. Since the test drives rarely use network format, you cannot use a test drive thread for the network sample, only the prose sample. If your character is a quiet character, introspection or inner monologue is fine. Welcome to the Legion, rookie. As a way of helping your character cope with their circumstances and have an optimistic outlook towards the future, the existing Legionnaires want them to record a message to their future self with their thoughts on their current situation, what they hope to accomplish in their time with the Legion, and the first thing they want to do when they get sent safely home or to the dimension of their choice. Additional info: Any additional info you think it's important to include. You can use this space to ask the mods if certain weapons, gear, belongings, or animal companions can be brought into the game with the character. Here is the app all formatted and ready to go: EXPECTED RESPONSE TIME ✦ For current player apps, or new player apps that are submitted before the player cap is filled, app review may take up to 1 week. Please do not contact the mods about your app unless 1 week has passed. ✦ For new player apps that are submitted after the player cap is filled, we cannot give estimates on how long it will take to get into the game, as this depends on any natural drops that happen. However, when a player slot opens, we will attempt to process the next new player app in the queue within 1 week of the drop that opened the player slot. ✦ For new players, we consider a new player slot reserved by an app until the entire review process is over, so if we ask for revisions, your slot is still reserved until the mods make their final judgement of the app. However, if we ask for revisions, you will have 2 days to respond. After that, you'll forfeit the player slot reserved by your app and we'll move on to the next app. |
MOD QUESTION
However, if you'd like to rely more heavily on McCree's marksmanship instead, the two listed powers are fine, and he'd be allowed to use his guns in the game as long as he was amenable to having them modified with stun rounds or with ammo that provided other nonlethal effects.
If you're fine with his current two powers, let us know in your response to this comment and we'll approve his app. Or let us know if you'd like to add a power and the mods will review it.
As it stands, the app is very solid, we just wanted to let you know you were allowed to add another power to what's provided.

McCree's a gunslinger so he relies heavily on his marksmanship. He'd be okay using nonlethal rounds or modifications to his gun, keeping it at two powers.
