LONG-TERM PLOT/CHARACTER GOALS
This post has two purposes. 1) To allow the playerbase to know some of some major elements that will show up in the mod plot, and that can be used in player plots. 2) For players to provide the mods with some feedback on the broad strokes/opportunities they hope plotting in the game can provide for them so the mods can keep it in mind while making up plots. These are the main elements in the mod plot, but if you'd like to incorporate some of them into your player plotting, please contact the mods. We won't be able to accommodate every request since we may have certain things planned that we want to run open and gamewide, but we'll try our best to help you. ✦ The cosmic threat of Chronoblivion: The main part of the mod plot will involve the group facing Chronoblivion, a tremendous cosmic-level threat, that has a group of NPC heralds adding a more personal touch by acting as Its agents in the game universe. Unraveling the nature of this threat and defeating It before It destroys the multiverse is the main thrust of the metaplot. Fighting this threat may also allow the PCs to potentially find the missing Legionnaires, and possibly allow the PCs to go home. ✦ Corruption in the UP: There are corrupt figures in the UP working for their own self-interest that are abusing their power and trying to usurp the democratic nature of the UP to obtain control. If left unchecked, they could turn the UP into something terrible like the Galactic Empire in Star Wars. Others may be working on behalf of Chronoblivion's heralds. ✦ Conflict in the UP: There is major conflict brewing between certain planets, such as the hatred Colu and Xanthu have for Robotica, that may need the intervention of the Legion to avoid open war. These elements might be incorporated into the main mod plot but will mostly be there for player plotting. ✦ Multiversal Threats: The dimensional rift on the planet that the characters fell through to get in the game universe can potentially allow major threats in from outside the universe, such as very powerful villains or even constructs like the Death Star from Star Wars, disrupting life in the UP. Many of these rift threats are the responsibility of the Time Trapper, who is trying to challenge the Legion to become stronger so they can defeat Chronoblivion. ✦ Dimensional Displacement: We can't allow too many of them because it could change the focus of the game, but if players want to run a few plots where characters get temporarily displaced to an alternate universe for an adventure, we can allow a few plots like this. ✦ Time Displacement: Time travel is a frequent plot device in the comics and can be used for several plots if players like. DC Comics has a rich history to draw from. The 21st century of the game universe is filled with superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, and there are interesting characters and settings in DC comics history even as far back as the Old West or Arthurian times. ✦ Legion of Super-villains: There will be a Legion of Supervillains that organizes in response to the Legion's current weakened ranks. They will potentially recruit npc villains that players bring to the game from outside the universe to create a villain team that will make it even more difficult for the PCs to maintain order and fight the main threats to the game. ✦ Media Shenanigans: The news media will be having a field day trying to report on the interdimensional displacees, including very intrusive attempts to scan them and use special machines that let them view the character's pasts in their home universes. Players can play around with the media ruckus and have it affect their characters. The mods will also run some fun media things as well. Here's where you come in! This is the place where you can give some feedback so the mods know what you're interested in on an ongoing basis. Filling this out is optional and if your goals change in the future, you can simply edit your entry like you would if changing something in your permissions. Character's Name: Mod Plot Preferences: Please tell us what elements of the mod plot you find most interesting. Player Plot Preferences: Please tell us what elements of the player plots you find most interesting Mod Plot Suggestions: Do you have any suggestions for elements not listed you'd like to see in the mod plot? Player Plot Suggestions: Do you have any suggestions for elements not listed you'd like to see as an option for player plotting? Character Goals: What long-term character growth goals are you hoping to achieve with your character? (This is really just a refined version of the "setting" section on your app). Character Plot Goals: Do you have any specific plot goals you'd like to do with your character? (Characters being brainwashed, undercover work, espionage, fending off some kind of invasion of hostile aliens, your character being framed for something, etc.) Anything Else: Do you have any other plot-related info you want the mods to know? This page will be linked to in several places so people will be reminded it's there: the main info page, the regular player plotting posts, and on the game/schedule plot request page. |
might as well do this to keep track
Mod Plot Preferences: Cosmic threats, because that's Rich's jam. Conflict in the UP because that's also his jam.
Player Plot Preferences: Multiversal Threats and Legion of Supervillains. Catastrophe and fighting villains are Rich's bread and butter.
Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A
Player Plot Suggestions: N/A
Character Goals: I'd really like to have Rich finally slow down, deal with his leftover traumas from the war/cosmic conflicts he's dealt with, and start balancing heroing with a healthy civilian life again, where he relaxes a little and spends time doing things that aren't just fighting bad guys/wars. So that's he has a well-balanced life. He can't be a Human Rocket forever.
Character Plot Goals: Possibly a brainwashing plot that turns him into a villain because that'd be terrible given all his experience. I'd also really love to put him in some kind of plot that pushes him into wanting to kill a bad guy because they did something absolutely horrible to someone else and put him through the wringer but have him still be a hero/cop and instead of killing him he arrests them.
Anything Else: N/A

Mod Plot Preferences: Cosmic threats, Corruption in the UP. Project Freelancer fell apart from the start because it was super corrupt and York would like to keep that from happening here.
Player Plot Preferences: Multiversal threats, time displacement, media shenanigans.
Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A
Player Plot Suggestions: N/A
Character Goals: After bailing from the Project and up till he was killed, York sort of scraped by and simply survived- I'd like him to get the chance to use his skills and know how, his savvy and Delta to do some good. To get something worthwhile out of what was done to him and the Delta fragment since, to his knowledge, it was all for nothing. An opportunity to make what he lived through and what made Delta matter by stepping up and fighting the good fight, working through his paranoia and ptsd to become a better person? Would be fantastic.
Character Plot Goals: Infiltration, Espionage, using his illicit skills for the greater good. Maybe pull a few heists or go undercover as a villain type.
Anything Else: N/A

Mod Plot Preferences: Corruption + Conflict in the UP. Given the nature of Project Freelancer, South is both built for war and has the potential to be manipulated for someone else's gains.
Player Plot Preferences: Media Shenanigans. South craves recognition. Except when it puts her in a bad light.
Mod Plot Suggestions: n/a
Player Plot Suggestions: n/a
Character Goals: Learning How To Be Your Own Person 101. South has never been in an extended situation without her twin North - who always looks out for her - so it's time she learn to take some responsibility for her actions. She also needs to learn how to exist in a team when no one is actively pitting them against each other.
Character Plot Goals: Once she's established and has a better sense of self and loyalty, I'd like to challenge that with someone trying to manipulate her against her team for their own gain (fits in with Corruption in the UP mod plot above).
Anything Else: I am pretty much open to anything, just ask!

Mod Plot Preferences: Legionnaire's whole goal is going to resonate deeply with Pharah; that desire to help, to save the multiverse
Player Plot Preferences: She's a complicated person with some personal issues, but it would be great to see her working with a team that is not exactly the well-trained ilk she knew in Helix or the army
Mod Plot Suggestions: Not at the moment
Player Plot Suggestions: Not at the moment
Character Goals: Have a team that she relies on and bonds with; her Legionnaire 'family'
Character Plot Goals: Any chance for her to see within and admit her personal issues as well as learning to work with others.
Anything Else: Not at the moment

Mod Plot Preferences: Corruption in the UP, definitely. If there's a reason to rebel Velvet has an equally reasonable chance of getting herself tangled up in it. I would be interested in figuring out a way for her to give a rip about cosmic-level business as well, just to give her something to punch that she isn't used to at all.
Player Plot Preferences: I don't know if it's feasible but - as far as multiversal threats go, I would just about love to have Velvet's brother, the hungry godlike being, show up and the Legion (and Velvet, in turn, again) to have to, like, deal with him somehow. I would be perfectly willing to do a comprehensive writeup on what that entails for the mods to look over and see if it sounds like a good fit for the game or not. And, as I mentioned in my application, I am very interested in pursuing the Legion of Super-Villains plots - potentially with Velvet as a member!
Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A
Player Plot Suggestions: Beyond "my character is an edgelord antivillain, I hope people are willing to help me with villain NPCs because I bet I'm gonna need them", not yet. I'm still getting up to speed.
Character Goals: At least in the early going - even though she'll have rejected Brande's offer - I want her to hang around Legion World and give people a chance to get a feel for her. She will try to give what the Legionnaires have to say about what they do and the worlds they're here to save a fair listen (if maybe only fair by her standards) - there's no quest for vengeance driving her to dismiss their sincerity out of hand and she is a fish out of water. And she'll need that foundation for anything I've got planned for her later. Velvet is by and large not a good person and she'll likely make an even worse "hero" without a significantly worse threat forcing her to show her more empathetic and courageous side. My goal with Velvet is to, I hope, explore the more complicated and corrupt parts of the setting through the eyes of someone whose ideas of how to "fix" them are distinctly not heroic regardless of her actual affiliation, and force her to confront whether she truly knows the best way to fix them or, even, the best way to be herself. I don't intend to make her choices easy ones, even if she chooses what looks to her like the easiest decision to make when she makes one. I want to emphasize that despite how keen I am on having her accidentally paint herself with the "Super-Villain" brush at some point my goal is to keep her pointed fairly steadily towards the antihero path - someone who sees a chance to do what she can to do "justice" to the world she's found herself in by her own measure of what's "just", but whose idea of what a person like her can do for that world may very well be irreversibly incompatible with the role of Legionnaire, or even the Legion as a whole. The likelihood that she'll end up barred from the Legion for her own tendency towards unapologetic murder is still pretty high, and even if she fails to give them cause to eject her from Legion World quickly, she'll never be an easy fit among them. But the reality is, she's too much of a noble daemon to fit in among anyone but the most morally motivated of scumbags, in turn. It's a dangerous universe out there, though. She'll need allies - maybe even friends.
Character Plot Goals: Velvet is pretty likely to frame herself in the process of just getting from point A to point B - it's like a pavlovian reflex - and if someone were to completely coincidentally help her out with doing that to herself, I'd die laughing. In turn this is probably going to make her a PR nightmare for the Legion even if she doesn't stick around - I apologize in advance for my character's habitual tendency towards being a headache in a person shape for law and order types. On the other hand, if any Legionnaires plan to do undercover work in hives of scum and villainy, whether she's a Legionnaire and actually trying to turn over a new leaf or not, if they can convince her to help them out Velvet could make a fantastically plausible cover story to sell people on their amoral bona fides just by existing, as herself, in someone's general direction. Espionage work like that would be fun. Just don't bring her along on any ventures that require subtlety of movement in any way. As fun as those ideas sound to me, though, those are fairly easy situations to put her in! They don't stretch her character much. What I'd really love is to force Velvet into a situation where the last thing, the genuine last thing in the universe, that she wants to do to solve the problem she has in front of her, is kill anyone, even someone who deserves it. Whether I get the chance is going to come down to what situations I can get her involved in - but I'd love it.
Anything Else: Not yet. I'll let you know if I think of anything.

Mod Plot Preferences: Corruption/Conflict in the UP. Prowl is an investigator by trade and would fall most easily to cases of corruption and other situations that'd need some kind of Suspicious Mystery resolved. This could apply to Chronoblivion as well, but he won't be too keen on hopping in to punching superheroics.
Player Plot Preferences: Same as above - I'm down for any kind of plot element as long as there's some kind of Unknown for him to munch on along the way.
Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A
Player Plot Suggestions: N/A
Character Goals: Being from a highly insulated robot planet, Prowl should have to deal with and learn about the variety of alien life inhabiting the UP. He will probably fuck up and make incorrect assumptions in many comedic ways. Also slowly learning to apply his space robot brain to some more tactical and strategic roles as he does later in canon, though he is very much reluctant to be a soldier - even for a good purpose.
Character Plot Goals: Absolutely down for the Infiltration/Espionage area of things(he can install some kinda solid-light projector for vehicle disguises or avatars). Plots of legally dubious nature that would make him all flustered and challenges his world view. Inconveniencing people by being a giant robot, and of course, putting him in situations where his weenie inexperience is on full display.
Anything Else: I believe that's it!

Mod Plot Preferences: Corruption/Conflict in the UP
Player Plot Preferences: Multiversal Threats, MEDIA SHENANIGANS
Mod Plot Suggestions: not at the moment
Player Plot Suggestions: not at the moment
Character Goals: Take over or Create a position for herself that bridges the rookie and native Legionnaires, including PR division
Character Plot Goals: Do you have any specific plot goals you'd like to do with your character? At least one Oops Rampaging Rex mishap. No deaths, just destruction.
Anything Else:

Mod Plot Preferences: All three but: Cosmic danger, conflict in the UP. Carolina has spent a lot of time resolving conflicts and wanting to do good after falling into corrupted elements in Project Freelancer.
Player Plot Preferences: Media shenanigans, legion of super villains. (Can you say Sharkface or dare I say, Temple?)
Mod Plot Suggestions: not at the moment!
Player Plot Suggestions: not at the moment!
Character Goals: So: Carolina has struggled with doing the right thing. Her perceptions were kind of skewed due to her issues with her father/the Project and then her goals of revenge. She was very much a punch first, ask questions later kind of person.
I want to have her be able to explore her expressed desire to stop fighting/killing as a first resort - a chance to help people and keep them safe. She grew protective of the reds and blues and their Chorus allies over the course of season's 12 and 13, and then lost a close friend. The chance to keep people safe so they don't go through what she did would be an important goal for her.
Also, forgiveness. Given a former enemy in the game (Locus) and characters she has fought with (York, CT), learning that it's okay to forgive and let go as opposed to obsess and revenge over (see: her father) would be a nice development. She's already on the path to this! I just want more of it.
Character Plot Goals: Big Damn Hero moments that don't result in everyone dying, working as a team with her team and other characters, protecting others (using her superdense/blocking power), being used as a stealth operator (her intangibility side of her powers), being put into a situation where she has to be awake and moving for a very long time but just having to Keep. Going.
(Day 5 don't fall asleep style elements, anyone?)
Anything Else:

Mod Plot Preferences: I find all three interesting, but I think I'm drawn toward the cosmic threat of Chronoblivion and conflict within UP
Player Plot Preferences: All of them seem fun, though I'm not drawn to one over another. I'd participate in any with Zen at least once.
Mod Plot Suggestions: n/a
Player Plot Suggestions: n/a
Character Goals: As for what I hope to do with him in the long term is for him to make friends and not just be the mentor and healer for others. (He will be that; it's his nature.) For all of his caring for others, he's not used to being on the receiving end. Someone needs to call him out on his own discord, his doubts and fears. He's in mourning and has some anger over Mondatta's death but concerns himself with others. It can get him into trouble. He puts himself in the line of fire, but he is not a military type omnic.
Character Plot Goals: Given that Zenyatta is a robot, I'd like for him to get involved with that conflict somehow as part of peacekeeping or even a victim of it. Also, just by the nature of his Transcendence here, he's going to get badly hurt at least once. It could be a catalyst for the above.
Anything Else: Nothing that I can think of
no subject
Mod Plot Preferences: cosmic threats and corruption in the UP, especially if the corruption is being engineered by Chronoblivion and impeding the Legion's ability to defeat it.
Player Plot Preferences: Legion of Super-villains, media stuff (though i'd have to be careful about how much of Aku's past can be viewed since there's a LOT there to get him into trouble), Multiversal Threats
Mod Plot Suggestions: not at present
Player Plot Suggestions: not at present
Character Goals: Aku's long term goal is to defeat Chronoblivion in whatever way possible so long as he doesn't get himself completely annihilated in the process (because he is way too selfish for that self-sacrificing bullshit.) My long term goal isn't very clear yet but I'd like to see him kind of maybe accidentally do a good thing for someone other than himself. I'd also like to see him make at least one (1) friend or "trustworthy acquaintance".
Character Plot Goals: Being the deceptive type and also the villainous type that he is makes me think he'd be a good candidate for some trickery and possible double-agent stuff, especially in regards to the Legion of Super-villains. If an opportunity arises where he could go undercover as one of them for spying purposes, I'd be so down for that. Another thing I'd love to do (which I'm not sure how it would work or even if it would work) is for Aku to try and pull a fast one on Chronoblivion by agreeing to be its herald in exchange for total restoration of his powers... and then immediately go back on his word.
Anything Else: He has in his possession Jack's sword, a divine weapon made of righteousness and the purest human spirit. It can cause harm to evil but not to innocents and is only effective in the hands of someone pure of heart. It's also good for deflecting evil stuff, even stuff as powerful as Aku's eyebeams. So in the right hands, it could be pretty effective. And in the wrong hands, not effective at all. If it's something that could be effective against the heralds, I'm up for Aku letting someone else borrow it.

Mod Plot Preferences: Fighting against Chronoblivion for the most part, but I'm also definitely interested in the robot race politics going on.
Player Plot Preferences: I am happy to supply multiversal threats since Transformers IDW is CHOCK FULL OF 'EM. I'd also be interested in media shenanigans with Drift, as well as time and/or dimensional displacement plots.
Mod Plot Suggestions: not at this time!
Player Plot Suggestions: nope
Character Goals: Drift's search for absolution and an identity he can comfortably settle into are going to be the highlights of the arc I'd like to play with him here. I'd like for him to have to confront things that challenge him and his mostly garbage coping mechanisms, plus the guilt he's grappling with from the Overlord debacle, and maybe eventually come at least closer to feeling more at peace with himself and like he's allowed to have good things.
Character Plot Goals: Brainwashing, being framed for something, undercover work, anything where being a car might be even a little bit relevant, gladiatorial combat, really, anything,
Anything Else: n/a

Mod Plot Preferences: fighting the Chronoblivion and robot race politics are the juiciest options
Player Plot Preferences: Multiversal Threats and Media Shenanigans are all great and good fun. Legion of Supervillains plots tickle my sense of irony and would be fantastic.
Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A
Player Plot Suggestions: N/A
Character Goals: Megatron in his canon point is one or two existential crises away from doing a heel-face turn. Granted, it'll take something pretty severe to break him out of his villainous ways, but I'd like to work towards having that moment he comes to in canon under different circumstances. So, anything that allows him to bond with teammates and confront his previous Bad Deeds, to the point where he softens up a little, would be the ultimate goal.
Character Plot Goals:
-Megatron having to do good. Especially if it involves saving/helping people and garnering their good will. He'll hate being loved by organics with every fibre of his being. Hugs are disgusting.
-Plots that have the temptation and opportunity to allow some unsavory actions.
-some kind of awesome giant robot smackdown.
Anything Else: Although deactivated in the day to day, Meg's onboard space bridge could come into play for a one-time plot use or something if needed.
