Character's Name: Velvet Crowe Mod Plot Preferences: Corruption in the UP, definitely. If there's a reason to rebel Velvet has an equally reasonable chance of getting herself tangled up in it. I would be interested in figuring out a way for her to give a rip about cosmic-level business as well, just to give her something to punch that she isn't used to at all. Player Plot Preferences: I don't know if it's feasible but - as far as multiversal threats go, I would just about love to have Velvet's brother, the hungry godlike being, show up and the Legion (and Velvet, in turn, again) to have to, like, deal with him somehow. I would be perfectly willing to do a comprehensive writeup on what that entails for the mods to look over and see if it sounds like a good fit for the game or not. And, as I mentioned in my application, I am very interested in pursuing the Legion of Super-Villains plots - potentially with Velvet as a member! Mod Plot Suggestions: N/A Player Plot Suggestions: Beyond "my character is an edgelord antivillain, I hope people are willing to help me with villain NPCs because I bet I'm gonna need them", not yet. I'm still getting up to speed. Character Goals: At least in the early going - even though she'll have rejected Brande's offer - I want her to hang around Legion World and give people a chance to get a feel for her. She will try to give what the Legionnaires have to say about what they do and the worlds they're here to save a fair listen (if maybe only fair by her standards) - there's no quest for vengeance driving her to dismiss their sincerity out of hand and she is a fish out of water. And she'll need that foundation for anything I've got planned for her later. Velvet is by and large not a good person and she'll likely make an even worse "hero" without a significantly worse threat forcing her to show her more empathetic and courageous side. My goal with Velvet is to, I hope, explore the more complicated and corrupt parts of the setting through the eyes of someone whose ideas of how to "fix" them are distinctly not heroic regardless of her actual affiliation, and force her to confront whether she truly knows the best way to fix them or, even, the best way to be herself. I don't intend to make her choices easy ones, even if she chooses what looks to her like the easiest decision to make when she makes one. I want to emphasize that despite how keen I am on having her accidentally paint herself with the "Super-Villain" brush at some point my goal is to keep her pointed fairly steadily towards the antihero path - someone who sees a chance to do what she can to do "justice" to the world she's found herself in by her own measure of what's "just", but whose idea of what a person like her can do for that world may very well be irreversibly incompatible with the role of Legionnaire, or even the Legion as a whole. The likelihood that she'll end up barred from the Legion for her own tendency towards unapologetic murder is still pretty high, and even if she fails to give them cause to eject her from Legion World quickly, she'll never be an easy fit among them. But the reality is, she's too much of a noble daemon to fit in among anyone but the most morally motivated of scumbags, in turn. It's a dangerous universe out there, though. She'll need allies - maybe even friends. Character Plot Goals: Velvet is pretty likely to frame herself in the process of just getting from point A to point B - it's like a pavlovian reflex - and if someone were to completely coincidentally help her out with doing that to herself, I'd die laughing. In turn this is probably going to make her a PR nightmare for the Legion even if she doesn't stick around - I apologize in advance for my character's habitual tendency towards being a headache in a person shape for law and order types. On the other hand, if any Legionnaires plan to do undercover work in hives of scum and villainy, whether she's a Legionnaire and actually trying to turn over a new leaf or not, if they can convince her to help them out Velvet could make a fantastically plausible cover story to sell people on their amoral bona fides just by existing, as herself, in someone's general direction. Espionage work like that would be fun. Just don't bring her along on any ventures that require subtlety of movement in any way. As fun as those ideas sound to me, though, those are fairly easy situations to put her in! They don't stretch her character much. What I'd really love is to force Velvet into a situation where the last thing, the genuine last thing in the universe, that she wants to do to solve the problem she has in front of her, is kill anyone, even someone who deserves it. Whether I get the chance is going to come down to what situations I can get her involved in - but I'd love it. Anything Else: Not yet. I'll let you know if I think of anything.
