MOD ACCOUNTS » » ![]() » thelegionmods@gmail.com - Mod Email METHODS OF CONTACT 1. Commenting to this screened post (or other posts set up for player contact like the FAQ). 2. Mod Account PM. 3. Email. (But only as a last resort, such as if you have logs to send us. PM and posts enabled for comments are our preference). Best Ways To Contact Us Please send everything through those centralized routes above, so the mod team can stay on the same page on things and don't accidentally overlook questions. We will generally not respond to questions or crit by AIM, our private plurks, pps or @ mentions to the mod plurk, or other forms of contact. We only plan to use the mod plurk for announcements and if you try to ask questions any other way we'll just redirect you. Wait Times For urgent crit/questions, we will try to answer back within 1-3 days to either give the answer or let you know we received your comment and that we need more time to confer over something (and we'll give you an estimate on how long we think it'll take). For less urgent issues like FAQ questions, plot requests, and requests to add new settings to the game info, we ask that players give us 4 days to respond. So if you want to run a plot at a certain time, please try to get the plot to us a few days ahead of time. For apps, we ask for a max of 7 days for us to get back to players with a response. THE MODS KAYLIN - App/Main Mod KOREL - App/Head Mod PLATINUM - App/Main Mod SAM - App/Main Mod HELPER MODS AVIE - Plot Mod CAROLYN - App/List Mod MARIE - App/Plot Mod ZITA - List Mod If you have general questions about the game/setting, please ask them in the FAQ. You can use this post for logged in or anon crit/comments/questions for the mods that otherwise don't fit in the FAQ. Or for anon crit you want passed to other players that don't have an anon-enabled hmd. Posts are screened, anon is enabled, IP logging is off (however, it will be turned on if there's abuse). |

We definitely understand your frustration with this situation. However, we're not the most comfortable reaching out to contact your mods, since they may not want to take action on the situation and we don't want them to feel as if we're interceding on how they run their game.
That said, if they reach out to us, we are definitely willing to share information about discipline issues with the mods of other games. We suggest in this situation to contact your mods with your concerns and let them know we'd be willing to make the information available to them if they reach out to us.
We hope this helps.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-22 12:27 am (UTC)(link)Would each power be counted separately or would they all be included under the "Spider Physiology" label?
no subject
In the case of Spider Physiology, because some of the powers are often superpowers in their own right, many of them would be counted as separate powers.
That said, the speed/agility/reflexes/stamina, we can count as one power: "enhanced physique."
Since with the spider-people, all these powers tend to be pretty low-level (like only low level superstrength), you could pretty much choose any three of them that you like and put them together as a 3-power set. And since web shooters are a very minor weapon, the character would be able to keep those (or have them created by the science guys) without them having to be folded into the powers rules, much like a Jedi would get to keep their lightsaber.
So as an example power set, you could potentially do 3 powers like: "enhanced physique, wall crawling, and super strength," plus artificial web shooters as gear instead of a power.

Is something like this something you'd be willing to consider doing? Either maybe action 4th walls or memes, or just including info on upcoming plots on the ads? I think the caps make sense but I really think we need to do something to offset the impression that the game's small and too insular. It's really not been but I think with the small size it's just really hard to fight that impression, just because small games usually have lots of problems in DWRP.

1) Lae had to drop and Emerson's mostly just our buddy for plot ideas (and honestly may have to drop as well), so we really could use new helper mods. So far, Kaylin, Zita, and I (Tipple) have been handling things just fine but that's partly due to how rarely we get new players. If we do potentially increase the caps in any way, we're going to need more hands on deck just in case it does encourage more people to app.
So what we're going to do is take volunteers for two more list mods. If we can fill 1-2 list mod slots and make sure we have enough hands on deck, we're definitely willing to up the player cap to 50 players. The 3 character per player cap would stay the same but that would allow a larger playerbase and more overall characters.
2) That idea the anon had about advertising upcoming events on the game ads to make new players see what action is coming and feel welcome to hop right in is a great idea so we'll start doing that in the future on the game ads.
3) We actually already were working on an idea for new tdm memes, so you had good timing. We do want to open a discussion with the playerbase about an idea we had for new tdm memes we can maybe do 1-2 times an AC period. We were considering running them as little action events that would actually count as part of the game's canon. Our current players would be allowed to count them towards their AC, and as long as some of the posts in them hit the app requirements, we were considering allowing potential new players to use them as their samples, AND, if they so chose, even keeping the events as how their characters got pulled into the game. (Obviously, they could opt out if they wanted to intro their characters a different way and then no one would remember them in the event).
Each of these memes would be themed, usually something fun but simple. Pirates! Steampunk! And so on. With some kind of simple goal and good situation for the characters to meet.
Obviously, it's something we need to discuss and see if the kinks can be worked out, and how exactly they'd be handled, but that discussion is definitely going to be put up later this week to see what the playerbase thinks of it and we'll see if people want to roll with that idea or nix it if they don't like it.
But we can say for sure that we can definitely try the first two options right off. We'll start doing that in the ads and put up the requests for list mods this weekend and up the caps if we get what we need.
Also, thank you very much for bringing this to us! We know sometimes people can be nervous about bringing over crit from RPA or WG. We really don't want to make a habit of going on the anonmemes because it's best to leave players a place to just hash out their frustrations, so we appreciate you bringing your concerns and suggestions from there straight to us. If you come up with anything else, please feel free to bring it to us. We do want to stay hands off over there but we definitely want to know what you think.

anon from rpa
(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)One of the most effective random ads I got was someone telling me that they wanted a certain character of mine (they'd take anyone but specifically wanted that one) and they wanted that character for a specific plot they had in the near future, because they needed that type of character. So I knew if I apped that character I'd have a lot to do. So that might help you guys in getting fresh blood, especially given that there's a lot of demand for an intense team based mission game and the two alternative games aren't as intense as some people expected.

If you'd like to go with his armor as the source of his power, you can potentially claim a powers exemption. It is allowed that characters can retain some kind of canon power source or technology to be the source of their power instead of an innate power.
Those abilities also seem fairly basic, enough to be considered part of the armor as a single power set. Anything more powerful than that would likely have to be factored into something like a 2-power set, but what you've listed could potentially just fall under a 1-power set, as "power armor." On the app, we would need you to list all the armor's abilities just so that we can be sure it works as a 1-power power set. If we need to nix any of his abilities or have you change them, we can work with you on it during the app process once we have the whole list.
Would that work for you?

Hi anon, we definitely understand your concerns and have had a few players over a few avenues come to us to voice similar feelings. While you're right that there are no overt problems with behavior, it is fair to have concerns about tone, frequency of certain events, and how certain things play out, especially since there are things the mods can do to offset this with the npcs, there are ways we can guide the game with IC events, and there are discussions we can facilitate between players to help people civilly work through issues.
The mods have certain intentions with the direction of the game and the nature of some of the future conflicts that could prove jarring to some, depending on what their priorities in the game are, and we agree that we need to make sure everyone is on the same page. We're aware that some players are seeking the tabletop campaign party feel that we've frequently advertised in the past and may not be happy with how certain things have been handled recently. For that reason, we do plan on facilitating some discussion to see if everyone can air their concerns, give critique, and maybe reach some compromises.
Since everything is mid plot, and we currently have other issues to attend to (like implementing the new app process with the new player wait queue) we'll be setting up discussion after the current plots are over. We'll discuss the issue in more depth with the playerbase then.
We hope this sounds like an acceptable solution, and if you have any other concerns, please feel free to air them.

Hi anon!
Regarding issue 1: We've gotten a few complaints about this, and understand why you have concerns. Like we said in the anon response above, we do plan to address this. There have been no overt problems with ooc behavior, but it's still fair to have concerns about tone, frequency of certain events, and how certain things play out. The mods do plan to see what we can do to offset this with the npcs, by guiding the game with IC events, and/or facilitating ooc discussions between players to help people civilly work through these issues.
Since everything is mid plot, we'll be setting up ooc discussion after the current plots are over. We'll discuss the issue in more depth with the playerbase then.
Regarding issue 2, we have passed the crit along to the player. It's not a disciplinary issue, and at this time, we don't feel this is necessarily an ICness issue, so we don't plan to intervene, but we have communicated your concerns with the player in question. We do encourage you to possibly talk directly with the player in question to see if maybe you can find a solution. They have an HMD that is anon-enabled, if you would prefer it to stay anon.
If you do feel things start to press into being an ICness issue to such a degree it breaks the "Be IC" rule, and aren't able to come to an understanding with the player, let us know, and we can intervene from there. Otherwise, we have at least passed the crit along so the player can consider it.
We hope these sound like acceptable solutions, and if you have any other concerns, please feel free to air them.

(Anonymous) 2017-04-14 08:22 am (UTC)(link)I'm not sure how feasible it is to gather up all that information with how far the game in right now, but I figured it was worth a suggestion.

Another mod pointed out that could be perceived as a dig at the player who'd recently gotten upset. He has since apologized to the player in question and they both have made it clear they understand that he wasn't referring to the player in question and was talking about it as a general issue he's noticed while modding over the years.
Several mods right now are working on building games they want to run after Legion and when they're talking about rule-building, that may entail possibly discussing past discipline, game mechanic, or communication issues they've come across while modding Legion and other games. This isn't meant to be personal or targeted at specific players that were involved in those issues. These issues are being discussed without attaching names strictly for the purposes of preventing similar problems in the future of games they mod.
